Making new friends as an adult...

I am 27 years old and I have no friends to hang out with.

By endorsing good friendships with new people I am trying to create a more secure network of friends that I will not date. This has been a huge issue in the past as a lesbian I have often formed romantic relationships with those I had met. I have always been a Girlfriend and not really a good friend, I become too occupied and unable to balance my focus between people. I have set my standards high and hope to avoid any potheads or jobless moochers. I have taken every possible approach to meeting new people for plutonic and meaningful relationships.

*The internet has been useful and abundant however it is somewhat pathetic and you are always wary of that person because you met them off the internet. After time sometimes they just turn into someone normal and most often they turn into someone kind of nuts. I get people who are looking for friends at first but turn into dating situations.

*Poetry Slams have been fun but I have been going for my own inspiration and fulfillment and have been awestruck by other’s spoken word. When I visited these functions in the past, I would sign up to promote the gatherings and competitions and meet friends that way and go to parties and so forth. So far this approach has not yirlded any plutonic life partners as of yet but has been quite entertaining.

*Looking for book clubs, cannot find one so I am starting my own… so far two people have said they are interested.

*Joining a hiking group of lesbians was fun, however I do not feel that the hikes are challenging enough, I don’t like going where there is dog shit everywhere and when the group is too big there is just not enough wild life or peace that can surround you. I will continue to go and then I’m out of it. .

I am hoping some interesting things happen, so far I have gone to coffee and I have dats to go to the Flea Market this weekend and to see the Donna’s in December. More to come on my progress.

Heidis Pies- Short Story

The rotund woman slid sideways through the double doors of Heidi's Pies on El Camino in San Mateo on evening when the weather was warm and the wind was slight. Walking in she saw the hostess start and then smile politely focusing at the flesh between her eyes, recovering form the unsightly creature who managed to get here without a forklift. The waitress looked as a small child might look at a adult as the Woman was not only round she was also tall. The woman looked around uncomfortably and cleared her throat to bark our "Table for one!" The waitress nodded and walked slowly not looking behind her as she led the beast to a open table that was near where they stood. The waitress's blond shiny ponytail swung back and forth as she trotted to the table in the center of the back dining area and presented the Woman's seat and Menu for the evening. She seated her self as quietly as something so large could seat itself at a table that just didn't fit her, and a chair that supported just a tad more than half her giant ass. One ass-cheek was painfully hanging off the chair so she lifted and occupied two chairs sighing as she balanced her weight and felt the eyes all around her in the crowded restaurant look at her as she adjusted. The noise picked up again as she opened her menu and pretended to not notice the scene she was making. Her heart thudded in her ears as her neck turned red when she knew she was being watched, it was not often she was excited and living the lonely life that she led she was enjoying the attention.

When the waitress came back to get her order she didnt talks he just stood beside her pen and notepad ready, The woman looked at her and spoke, "Yah I think Im ready to order, um, I would like to try a piece of all the pies of the day, a caraffe of iced tea and four scoops of vanilla ice cream." The waitress didn't look at her nor write her order down and walked away to place her order. She came back with the Icedtea and a small cube with sugar packets, shortly after the iced tea arrived two waitresesse set down an array of slices, every color of the rainbow. There was French Apple, Chocolate Cream, Lemon Mirange, Bananna Cream, Blueberry, Loliberry, Pecan, Strawberry Rhubarb and of course classic Cherry eith her Vanilla ice cream.

She Felt electricity on her back as she felt the onlookers start to gape at the enormous amount of food she was about the consume shamelessly. She tasted each pie slowly and with a smile on her face taking bites of ice cream between savoring each flavor of pie, telling herself it was to cleanses the palatte. Right now she was a exhibitionist and the world was a voyer looking in on her, she felt tingles between her legs, how she longed for someone to touch her. Fopod was her only comfort and coming to heidi's Pies was her only stunt that would bring about any interaction at all. She couldn't simply ahve a meal she had to demonstrate how much she could eat being so big. She slutted herself for these people in a way and they loved the controversy and unappeal of her big slimey body getting fatter with every bite. She had become so consumed with the attention she glanced around and saw peoples heads wuickly twitch away from her before she could swivel her chins at them.

I was talking to someone about Bejesus and what the fuck it means. I was told it's synomous with "Crap" pretty much where ever you can put crap you can put "Bejesus."

So upon researching it further for the people in the cheap seats. I found something really funny that just puts it nicely... and crudly the way I like it!

Starfucks

Possibly the biggest Drug Problem in America is caffeine. Everyday you find yourself drooling over the goodies in the counter display and anxiously waiting to give your order to the Barista. It made my addiction to caffiene a special flare. I now drink a Iced green tea, unsweatened, sometimes with a gouda bacon sandwich on the side... and conveniently if I forgot my lunch a pre-packaged sandwhich that cost way more than it should. did i tell you Im trying to only eat fish?

Today is the last starbucks I will ever buy. I feel full and guilty- I ate it all, and it was good. If it is good you should feel guilty according to most religeous profits.

One of my Exes' brother's Boyfriend was going to sue Starbucks for Sexual Harassment. AS the story goes the highly uneducated manager at his store found missing money from the drawer and undressed herself to show she hadnt taken it, then requested of the two gay male employees they do the same. When they did, One employee had 800 dollars on hima nd claimed it was for rent, Bro Boyfriend had 2 dollars.

After coming home he decided he felt traumatized enough to talk to corporate about it. His boyfriend was a law student who hadn't passed the Bar exam yet and was all for him suing. needless to say things escalated when Starbucks didnt react, a couple of months later they offered a settlement to Bro Boyfriend and he declined stating he had to recieve counseling and medication after his experience. They contacted a lawyer and went to War with Starbucks. They are still waiting for that settlement.

The question is was he a victim? to the extent he could request half a million from starbucks? I can gaurantee if it was a "mom and pop shop" he would not have pulled the same crap. Is Starbucks a evil corporation or a local coffee shop on steroids?

A short history inserted here:

A Short History of Starbucks and the Controversy They've Generated
By The Unemployed Writer
Starbucks is a story of ingenuity, great timing, and like any great business story, eventually of ruthless business tactics. The result is a company with a long and twisted history of great success and universal derision from those that find their success unacceptable. But, what exactly has Starbucks done in its relatively short corporate history to get itself to the place it currently inhabits, that of a company on the edge of worldwide control of a vast market.
The first Starbucks was opened in Seattle, Washington in 1971 by three partners-English teacher Jerry Baldwin, history teacher Zev Siegel, and writer Gordon Bowker. The original Starbucks location was at 2000 Western Avenue from 1971 to 1976. That store then moved to 1912 Pike Place.
Current Starbucks bigwig, Howard Schulz joined the company in 1982 and was soon afterward looking beyond existing markets to the idea of selling espresso and drinks in store, something he witnessed on a trip to Milan. The original owners were not interested in his proposal though, so in 1985 he started Il Giornale and started selling espresso in store. In 1987, Schulz bought Starbucks and rebranded all of his existing stores as Starbucks.
And by 1992, when the company hit the stock exchange, there were more than 150 outlets in the United States. The real growth and expansion took place in the late 90s though when Starbucks began purchasing companies like Seattle Coffee Company in the UK and expanding their operations outside of the US. After the purchase of Seattle's Best Coffee was completed in 2003, the total number of Starbucks stores in the world was over 6,000.
Currently, the business goal of Starbucks and at the rate of their expansion, projects them to expand from their current 12,000+ store fronts to nearly 20,000. Howard Schulz has always liked to describe his company as a "small business" model, a place where people can go to relax outside of home and work. The model reflects in the build of the stores, with comfortable seating, and ample space to sit and read or work on school work.
However, on the opposite side of the aisle, there has been substantial derision over Starbucks' business practices. Foremost, the lack of union representation in the employment of Starbucks employees, not uncommon for low paying jobs such as fast food and mass-chain retail, Starbucks employees have still had substantial trouble finding the right balance on the issue. Repeatedly, the company has been held responsible legally for their stance on unionizing, including the firing of union employees and discrimination against pro-union employees.
Howard Schulz's response has always been that "If they had faith in me and my motives, they wouldn't need a union." Further disputes have been held between Starbucks and their detractors, including organizers against the WTO and free trade organizations. In the 1999 WTO riots in Seattle, dozens of Starbucks locations were vandalized, a sign of protest against the symbolism that Starbucks carries in the global market.
For a long time Starbucks was looked down upon for its monopoly of the coffee bean market, and poor treatment of growers. However, in recent years they have grown exponentially in their ability to offer Fair Trade Coffee, accounting for nearly 10 percent of the US market. The argument now is that it's hard to find growers willing to market themselves as Fair Trade due to the cost of doing so.
Starbucks is a classic tale of American business growth. Formed in a small location in downtown Seattle they've grown into one of the largest retail chains in the world. However, with that growth comes incredible scrutiny, including matters of employment, trade, and supply chain. A careful balance has to be struck between the desire to grow and the ability to do so responsibly, respecting not only customers and providers, but fellow companies and world operations.
